As a club, PVKC is an active member of the American Kennel Club. We hold two All-Breed shows each year (one in April and one in August), an Obedience/Rally Trial, an Agility Trial, a Tracking Test, and a CGC Test.
PVKC is active in our local community. At our summer show, we offer fun activities for children about dog shows and dog obedience. We offer a Spring Health Clinic. We have year round Training at all levels from Puppy Kindergarten through Competition Obedience. We support the Franklin County Sheriff's Dog Shelter & Adoption Center and offer veterinary and training support to the Erving MA Police Department's search dog, Officer Badge. We have donated copies of If I Ran the Dog Show to local libraries and canine & feline oxygen masks (and training) to local fire departments. And we encourage local youth programs by offering an annual college scholarship and by supporting the AKC Junior Showmanship Program and the 4-H.
Individual PVKC dogs also work within our communities. Many of our members are active in therapy programs, particularly reading programs. One of our members is an active member of a Search and Rescue team. We volunteer to support local dog programs and dog fairs. We've offered demonstrations of dog activities like obedience, nose work and search & rescue. If you have an event we could help with, by all means contact us.
